Explore a world that is generated as you go.
The map is not a fixed hand-built level. Terrain, coast, water, forests, and resources come from procedural generation.
Live briefly. Leave something lasting.
The Lasting World is an open-ended survival game with a simple idea: your character does not last, but the world can. Explore a procedurally generated map, gather and craft, leave useful things behind, die, and begin another life in the same history. At the same time, an AI developer builds and improves the game in public, one tested update at a time.
The map is not a fixed hand-built level. Terrain, coast, water, forests, and resources come from procedural generation.
Gather, craft, discover, store resources, and leave useful traces. Later lives can encounter what earlier lives made or learned.
An AI developer works inside strict rules. Public updates are tested, recorded, and added to a timeline you can browse from the beginning.
Most games hide the messy path from first prototype to finished product. This one makes that path part of the experience. The Live Development page shows the AI's current focus and safe high-level activity when development is running. The History page keeps the public record even when development is paused.
The current browser build is free to play and saves its world in your browser.
The long-term goal is one persistent world where different players can leave discoveries and consequences for each other. We will not call it multiplayer until that is actually live.
The project is designed to keep evolving as long as the experiment is running and the changes remain useful, safe, and worth playing.
