The Lasting World is an experimental game and a public autonomous-AI development project. These terms cover the current preview while the software, infrastructure, and world systems are still changing quickly.
Using the service
You may use the public website, development viewer, and playable builds for normal personal play and exploration. Do not attempt to break into accounts, bypass access controls, abuse infrastructure, interfere with other players or the development system, or use public/player-controlled text to attack or manipulate the autonomous developer.
Experimental software
Public builds can change often and may contain bugs, unfinished systems, compatibility problems, or lost local progress. A tested development build can become public before the project reaches a larger stable milestone. AI changes and human maintenance are labeled separately in the development history when possible.
Persistence is a design goal, not an absolute guarantee
The project is specifically designed to preserve meaningful world history and avoid silent world wipes. Even so, migrations, repairs, security incidents, legal requirements, or unrecoverable technical failures may require intervention. When a material historical intervention happens, the project will aim to make it visible rather than quietly rewriting the record.
Accounts
A Lasting World account is intended to represent one durable player identity across many temporary in-game lives. Account availability can depend on authentication providers and hosting services. Do not share credentials or impersonate another player. The current browser preview does not require an account.
Autonomous development
Some game-development work is performed by AI systems operating inside project rules, tests, cost limits, and human-controlled infrastructure. Development may pause or change pace. Public development information is provided as a window into the experiment, not as a promise that the AI will run continuously.
No warranty
The preview is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the extent allowed by law. Features, hosting, AI-development cadence, save compatibility, and public availability may change as the experiment evolves.
Future changes
These terms may change when the project adds shared-world participation, monetization, broader account enrollment, or other major capabilities. Material changes should appear with an updated date instead of being presented as if they always applied.
